ATM fraud accomplice arrested

Agartala: July 18: The weakness of the state police has once again become apparent in the wake of the ATM fraud scandal. Several people were arrested for cooperating in the ATM fraud case. The police are interrogating them.

Hakan Burkan, a Turkish resident who was arrested by police last year for ATM fraud. The accused of ATM fraud was brought to GB Hospital for treatment on July 10 due to his physical problems. Hakan Jar Burkan came to the hospital and went to the toilet, he escaped through the toilet window. As soon as the incident became public, the rush started. The search went on in GB and its surrounding areas. But no trace of the fugitive accused was found. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. After investigating the incident and examining the CCTV footage, the police came to know that after escaping from GB Hospital, Hakan Jar Burkan went to a shop at Agartala Capital Complex. Go there and have a cold drink. And from there two young men came and took him away. During the investigation of the incident, the police could reveal the identities of the two youths.

One of them is Shakib Tripura, a resident of Chhota Shakbari area of Sabrum sub-division and the other is Sukhen Bhowmik, a resident of Barajala area of Agartala. According to that, the police of Sabrum sub-division Manubazar police station arrested Shakib Tripura from his house in Chhota Shakbari last Wednesday night. It was handed over to the NCC police from last Thursday. Later, Sukhen Bhowmik, a resident of Barajala area, was arrested. Shakib Tripura and Sukhen Bhowmik, the investigating officers in the case, were handed over to the court on Friday seeking a seven-day police remand.

The court granted a 7-day police remand to the detainees after hearing statements from lawyers for both parties. The detainees will remain in police remand till July 22. Meanwhile, the police got some information through interrogation. Based on which, the owner of Amar Bhandar Rest House at GB Bazaar was taken into custody on Sunday for questioning. Police from GB outpost and NCC police station along with Crime Branch went and arrested the restaurant owner. However, the crime branch and police officials did not want to talk about this.
