Agriculture Minister handed over the saplings to the affected farmers

Agartala: Jan 13: Various vegetable saplings and fruit saplings were distributed in Dukli block on Thursday to farmers affected by untimely rains in the last two months in the state.
Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy handed over vegetable saplings and fruit saplings to the farmers on the initiative of the Agriculture Department under Dukli Block. He later said that an initiative has been taken to distribute 1lakh 25 thousand saplings among farmers in West Tripura district. More than two thousand farmers have been affected by the untimely rains in the state. More than six hundred saplings per head are being handed over as assistance. It has been decided to provide assistance through SDRF after calculating the compensation of the victims.
Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy hoped that the cooperation would soon reach the farmers. He further said that saplings should not be taken home only; farmers should take initiative to plant them in the land. Cultivate the land again, the government is on the side of the farmers, he said. Compared to other years, crop production has increased this year. Because the farmers have sold paddy in the festive mood. It has become clear that the crop has produced well this year. He also urged those who have vacant land to produce crops and like in the past, farmers no longer have to go to the office to protest. Department officials are reaching out to the farmers.
The main goal of the government is to make the farmers more economically strong. He hoped that the state would be economically prosperous if the farmers were economically strong. He further said that the Prime Minister of the country wants to double the income of farmers by 2022. That is why the government has extended a helping hand to the farmers, he said.
West Tripura District President Antra Dev Roy, Dukli Block Chairman Ajay Kumar Das and other officials of the department were also present on the occasion.
