By Discover Tripura Correspondent

Agartala: May 19: On Wednesday, the Tripura state Trinamool Congress staged a protest near the Vivekananda statue at the Astabal Stadium against the rampant rise in prices of cooking gas, edible oil and petrol and diesel. Tripura state Trinamool Congress president Subal Bhowmik, vice-president Prakash Das, general secretary Tapas Roy and other leaders were present at the protest.

In this regard, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress President Subal Bhowmik said, "Tripura state Women's Trinamool Congress is protesting against the rise in prices of essential commodities and the horrendous rise in prices in our state, especially in the last 3-4 days where connection with the other state have been cut off. Due to the indifference of the state government in these cases, the black marketers in the state are taking advantage of the situation and the prices of commodities are skyrocketing. In this situation, TMC have not noticed any initiative from the state government.

There is no statement from the state government yet. For the past four days, the state of Tripura has been isolated from northeastern India. The state government is not taking steps to address this problem properly. On the contrary, it has taken all the decisions and guidelines such as not giving more than Rs 200 for two-wheeler petrol at petrol pumps or banning all types of petrol and diesel. Subal Dey added, "We are a remote state. After the collapse, we have not seen any initiative in the long 25 years of Left Front government and we have not seen any initiative from the BJP-ruled government for these four and a half years."

“Every year we face difficulties due to landslides. The state government needs to collect the material 2-3 months in advance, be it for essential commodities, food grains, petrol or diesel. The amount of landslides that have occurred in various parts of the Northeast, rail services have been cut off, road services have been cut off, all sorts of disruptions have occurred. "

Subal Bhowmik further said, "Ministers, legislators sitting in the Assembly are fighting and quarreling like jungle robbers, who will take or get any department. We, the people of this state, especially the women wing of the Trinamool Congress, are protesting today at the foot of this Vivekananda idol. We will take turns now, we will go on strike every day somewhere in the state, our movement will continue, our protest will continue. "
