CPIM placed memorandum to Governor

Agartala: June 30: Two parties of CPI-M MLAs met Governor Satyadeva Narayan Arya and DGP VS Yadav and alleged that there was jungle rule in the state of Tripura under the BJP government, citing various ongoing attacks on the homes of opposition members. The legislators have requested the DGP and the governor to take strict measures to maintain law and order.
Addressing the media, Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar said, "Such attacks are not new in Tripura under the BJP. Earlier we had met the former governor who assured us to stop the violence within 24 hours." Today we have said the same thing to the governor since the governor is sick and bedridden, we met with the in-charge there. The governor has seen the matter and told us through his officials that he will look into the matter. "
"We have requested the governor to maintain law and order. He is ill but his office is running. Our team then met the DGP and made the same complaint. We will wait to see what action will be taken to control the hooliganism. In this case," Manik Sarkar said. Today, CPI-M members including party state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury, MLA Ratan Bhowmik, MLA Sudhan Das met the victims at Ram Nagar, Indra Nagar and Shyamoli Bazar. The leaders met Hiralal Das's house at Ramnagar 8, Gaur Kumar Bhattacharya, Kiran Lodh of Shyami Bazar, Santnu Debnath, Dipankar Sukla Vaidya of Indra Nagar, Haradhan Debnath, Khela Sarkar.
