The Chief Minister inaugurated the “Ratha Yatra”

Agartala: June 30: Fair means matching. Through the fair, peace and harmony among the people of all castes, religions and castes are restored. God cannot be seen. But everyone can realize God by focusing on various festivals including Rath. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the fair organized on the occasion of the traditional Melaghar Rath Yatra festival.

The traditional Melaghar Rath Yatra festival was inaugurated on Thursday at Jagannath Bari Muktangan Mancha with the participation of Information Culture Department and Melaghar Municipal Council. Sepahijala District President Supriya Das Dutta, Sepahijla District Magistrate Bishwasree B and eminent social workers of the state Kishore Barman and Debabrata Bhattacharya were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha started by lighting the lamp. Although the Rath Yatra festival was closed for two years in the middle of the year, the joy of the people in the Melaghar Rath Jatra festival did not diminish at all. On the contrary, the bond between peace, harmony and reconciliation has increased. The traditional Rath Yatra festival has been celebrated at Melaghar since 1965. For many years, there has been a tradition of peace and harmony among the people of the entire subdivision and district centered on this fair.

Jagannath is one of the gods of the world. Those who are older will judge what was before, and what has happened now. It has to be conveyed to the younger generation. This tradition must be preserved. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the Information Culture Department is working in this regard.

The shopkeepers sit with posara in the fair organized around the rath yatra. On this day, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha offered worship at Jagannath Temple. Fans from different parts of the subdivision gather at the Melaghar for the Rath Utsav. The cultural program will continue for the next 9 days on the open stage.
