Chhabimura, an attractive tourist spot in Tripura

Ampi, 20th of August 2020: There are many tourist spots in Tripura and among them Chabimura is the one of them which has a special natural fascination for the visitors. There are a lots of carvings attraction on the cliffs.  Chabimura is famous for rock carvings of god, goddess on mountain walls & small, big caves beside Gomati river. It is situated on the bank of Gomati river at Amarpur subdivision under Gomati district, 82 km away from main city & capital Agartala, Tripura, India, 30 km away from Udaipur & 7.5 km away from Amarpur. Chabimura shows the beauty of nature very closely.


To see the actual beauty of Chabimura you have to take a boat & then feeling the breeze coming from Gomati you can see the beautiful rock carvings on Chabimura mountain walls & you can also see some beautiful small natural fountains & caves. The carvings images date back to 15-16th centuries. Birds chirping, the wind passes through the trees, the sound of water falling of natural fountains, the waves & sound of river water when boatman ply the boat, the drone of cricket, sometimes the sound of wild animals in forests far makes you feel like talking with nature from very near. The biggest idol of 'Maa Durga' in rock carvings is about 20 feet high, you can touch & take her blessings. There are many small caves in the mountain you can see from the boat but if you want to experience those waterfalls & caves personally there is one place you can go & do your adventure & it’s really adventurous & beautiful. If you have adventurous mind it will surely call you to go there, climb the mountain, go to caves. There you can see bats & snakes, locals say they don't harm.


Lots of tourists come here every year to see, especially they come in winter because in other seasons the paths became slippery because of rain. It's a famous picnic spot too.


If you are taking the journey of Chabimura, take some snacks & water with you because the boat journey will take 2-3 hours, you may feel hungry. Motor boats are also available.


Facilities: Boating, can cost 400-1000. If you want to stay or have to stay arrangements are also there, Sagarika Parjatan Niwas in Fatik Sagar, Amarpur.


Road-map direction:

From Agartala city: Almost 80 km away from the city will take 2 & half hour to reach Amarpur via Amarpur-Udaipur road. From Agartala, motor stand take an auto to Nagerjala then take a bus to Amarpur. Then reserve a small car or Maruti to Chabimura or you can take a bike ride.


From Agartala Airport: Almost 90 km away from the airport will take almost 3 hours. You can take an auto from the airport to Nagerjala then same as previous way.


From Railway Station: Nearest railway station is Agartala railway station, Badharghat. Take an auto from Agartala railway station to Nagerjala then same as previous way.


From Agartala to Amarpur journey can cost you Rs. 60-100/- per head.


About 25 years back the situation was little bit negative when extremist activities were existing in Tripura but at present there is no any obstacle to visit to Chabimura Tourist Spot for spending pleasant time, organizing picnic or boating for better enjoyment.


If the concerned department take proper initiative to renovate and beautify it then it would be a gorgeous tourist spot for the state ahead.
