By Discover Tripura Correspondent

Agartala: June 29: The agitating interns denied all the allegations made by the authorities of Tripura Medical College, Hapania. They made it clear that there was no provocation behind their movement. They are in this movement to realize their just demands.

The interns of Tripura Medical College have been on strike for about 18 days demanding an increase in stipend. On Tuesday, the authorities of Tripura Medical College held a press conference and raised various issues. In this regard, the interns held a counter press conference on Wednesday. At a press conference, the interns said that they had informed the authorities in writing on May 23 that they could join the movement if their demands were met. They also denied the claim by the authorities that the interns were being provoked.

They reiterated that there was no provocation behind their movement. They alleged in their counter that such allegations were being made by the authorities to discredit the movement for their just demands. The interns made explosive allegations on the day that they had been trying to silence their voices for four and a half years, where they could not protest anything in the variously deprived TMCs. They said the movement was an expression of four-and-a-half years of resentment.
