Stop wastage of drinking water: Sushanta Choudhury

Agartala: Sept 20: 20 to 30 years ago the world or the state of Tripura is not where it is now. The world or the state has advanced a lot. Water means life. There will come a time to stop wasting water. Time will come to move towards water conservation. There are many methods of water conservation abroad. Just as water cannot be wasted, clarity must be maintained. But there is still lack of awareness about transparency among people. So people need to be educated about awareness.
This is never possible without everyone's cooperation. Two trainers of Ramakrishna Mission have been assigned to do this work. They have knowledge about transparency. They have been given responsibility by taking decisions in the cabinet. They will organize training camps in different parts of the state. This was said by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury while discussing the state-based Swachta Pakwada program under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Part II-2022-23 financial year. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury also said that user committees have started working in different states of the country in this state-based program organized at Agartala Town Hall. User committee will start working in Tripura state also in a few days.
Besides, the special drive on transparency will not materialize if the grassroots public representatives do not lend a helping hand. In 2019 Tripura State was declared as ODF, now running ODF Plus. For that, the way this matter is accepted in urban areas, the matter is still not accepted in rural areas. Therefore, ODF Plus will be implemented in three parts to focus on villages, said Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
At present D.W.S office is not only for providing drinking water. The state has moved ahead of the national average in delivering water through door-to-door pipe lines. Central government is giving money. Emphasis should be placed on transparency along with water. Apart from minister Sushanta Chowdhury, the officials of D.W.S office were present in this day's event. Elected public representatives from different parts of the state participated in the event.Tags: Tripura Others
