Tripura Chief Minister Visits Flood-Relief Camps Amid Displacement Concerns

Agartala, June 1, 2025 – In response to the ongoing heavy rainfall and flooding across the state, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited several temporary relief camps in Agartala on Sunday. Accompanied by key officials, including Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Revenue Department Secretary Bijesh Pandey, and the District Magistrate of West Tripura, the Chief Minister assessed the situation firsthand.
During the visit, displaced residents voiced their concerns over delayed relief efforts, stating that they had been stranded in the camps for nearly two days without receiving food supplies. Many affected individuals expressed frustration, particularly over the challenges faced by children and elderly residents due to the lack of essential provisions.
Acknowledging the grievances, Chief Minister Saha assured residents that he would take the matter seriously, promising an investigation into any negligence and immediate corrective measures.
Following his visit, reports indicate that administrative authorities have intensified relief efforts, with departments instructed to enhance their response strategies.
